Strings the Thing is a camp for students ages 7-20
featuring chamber music, orchestra and private lessons
in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The program provides instruction in violin, viola and cello from a
faculty of highly trained and skilled teachers with experience teaching at all levels.
The camp takes place at:
Lakeview Heights Baptist Church - 2630 Alhambra Dr. West Kelowna BC
Monday - Friday (July 15-19, 2024)
Junior Camp
9:15am-12:30pm Monday - Friday (July 15-19, 2024)
Fee: $220 ($260 for registration after May 15, 2024)
For students ages 7 and up, RCM level 1-3 (middle of Suzuki Bk 1 to beginning of Bk 3)
The Junior camp will focus on orchestra, fiddle, cello ensemble, etc.
Junior program participants will benefit from individualized instruction in small groups
coached by our outstanding faculty. 12 participants maximum.
Intermediate Camp
9:15am to 3:15pm Monday - Friday (July 15-19, 2024)
Fee: $425 ($470 registration after May 15, 2024)
Intermediate camp: For students ages 10 and up, RCM level 4-8 (end of Suzuki Bk 3 and up)
Senior Camp
9:15am to 3:15pm Monday - Friday (July 15-19, 2024)
(some rehearsal time after camp hours may be required for those participating in the Faculty Concert)
Fee: $470 ($520 registration after May 15, 2024)
Senior camp: For students with a strong playing and performing background ages 14 and up, RCM level 9 and up.
For students interested in participating in the Faculty Concert, you will be asked to submit an audition video by June 1, 2024.
If you are registering 3 or more students, a 10% discount is available.
The Intermediate and Senior camp will include chamber music coaching,
orchestra and private lessons. 30 participants maximum.
