Registration Opens April 1st, 2022
Strings the Thing is an inter-generational strings camp featuring chamber music, masterclasses and private lessons in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The program provides instruction in violin, viola and cello from a faculty of highly trained and skilled teachers with experience teaching at all levels.
The camp takes place at the centrally located First Lutheran Church at 4091 Lakeshore Rd, Kelowna, BC
Junior Camp - SUSPENDED FOR 2022!
9:15am-3:15am Monday - Friday
Fee: $300 ($350 for registration after June 1st, 2022)
For students ages 7-10, RCM level 1-4 (middle of Suzuki Bk 1 to Bk 3)
The Junior camp will focus on small ensemble instruction, fiddle, cello ensemble, etc. Junior program participants will benefit from individualized instruction in small groups coached by our outstanding faculty. 25 participants maximum.
The Junior camp will have a variety of arts activities in the afternoon sessions.
Intermediate Camp
9:15am to 3:15pm Monday - Friday
Fee: $390 ($425 registration after June 1st, 2022)
Intermediate camp: For students ages 10 and up, RCM level 5-8 (Suzuki Bk 4 and up)
Senior Camp
9:15am to 3:15pm Monday - Friday
Fee: $425 ($450 registration after June 1st, 2022)
Senior camp: For students with a strong playing and performing background ages 14 and up, RCM level 9 and up.
The Intermediate and Senior camp will be heavily focus on chamber music coaching, along with masterclasses and private lessons. 30 participants maximum.
Students in the senior camp will be invited to play with faculty for the faculty concert.
